It is our distinct pleasure to introduce the staff of the Montessori Academy of Windsor.
Dusanka Stulic, our Executive Director and Principal is a certified Elementary Teacher since 1979 with Major in English and English Literature. She also took courses at University of Windsor in History and Foreign Languages. Dusanka was granted her post graduate degree in Montessori Education from AMS in 2005. She had an opportunity to teach throughout Europe, Asia and North America. She is eager to share and exchange knowledge and ideas in education in order to help her students to progress to their best abilities and develop a desire for learning. Ms Dusanka is presently a Head-Directress of Elementary 1 classroom and administrator of the Academy. Love and devotion for the children are her greatest quality. Return to top
Ms. Vera Eric is the Head-Directress for our Elementary 2 program. She has been with Montessori Academy since the beginning and is excited to have the opportunity to work with the older students. For the past three years, she has been the directress for our Elementary 1 program. She graduated as a certified directress from the AMS Casa program. She has a BA. / BEd from Brock University and has worked in the public system before being introduced to the Montessori Method. Her desire is to be able to help each child achieve greater independence, confidence and knowledge. Most importantly, she works diligently to prepare their environment with activities that will foster a love of learning, concentration and a sense of pride and satisfaction of their many accomplishments. Mrs. Leanna Madillis a Casa directress graduate from the North American Montessori Center in B.C and about to begin her 5th year at MAW. She has over twenty years of experience in working with children of various ages (Infancy to 12 yrs) in both the home and classroom settings. Part of Leanna's work history also includes 6 years in the public school system working as a classroom/ office aid and assisting in the teaching of English as a second language. Leanna is also a certified Personal Support Worker, enabling her to work in caring for the disabled, elderly and other persons in need. Leanna will continue assisting in both classrooms as well as carrying out administrative duties. She is a highly organized and personable individual who will continue assisting Ms. Dusanka & Ms. Vera in every way possible. Her dedication and enthusiasm are an added bonus to our school. Miss Maureen Harris was born in Ireland and emigrated to Canada after completing her studies in piano in Europe. Maureen graduated with a M.Ed and B.Mus from the University of Windsor, an Early Childhood Education certification from Michigan State University; and received her Montessori teacher certification at the 'National Centre for Montessori Education'. "Montessori Mozarts Make Music" was founded through incorporating the leading approaches and philosophies that influence early childhood, music and movement education today. It is a Montessori-based music education program for children aged newborn to 8-years old. She has 20 years of music experience in performance and instruction, with an extensive background in early childhood education. She shares a deep commitment to the Montessori philosophy and instilling a lifetime appreciation of music in every child. Return to top
M. Khoury has been teaching French and other Second languages since 1976, at the University, College and Elementary levels. Presently, he teaches French and Arabic at the University of Windsor. He is the author of 8 children stories and of more than 35 Curriculum related material in French, English, Arabic and Spanish. M. Khoury is looking forward to combining his methodology in teaching French with the Montessori approach, to make the learning of French an unforgettable experience for the children of Montessori Academy. Helen Chen has been teaching for 21 years. In China, she taught high school, was the director of both the high school choir and various church choirs. She received her Bachelor degree at Zhejiang Teacher's University in 1988, then moved on to teach at Zhejiang University and continued to teach after moving to Canada. Having taught both adults and children as young as four, Mrs. Chen has a wide range of experience and enjoys fostering the talent of everyone she teaches. She takes much satisfaction in bringing out children's full potential. Return to top
